Cliff’s Qualifications​
NZQA National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Working on Ropes) (Level 4)
This qualification covers advanced industrial rope access techniques and planning and preparing to carry them out. Cliff has held this qualification since 2009. This allows him to supervise and instruct on-site to ensure working at height safety strategies are implemented.
The Level 4 NZQA qualification consists of 8 units covering:
Identify and apply industrial rope legislation and standards; select and safely use industrial rope access equipment; plan and prepare for advanced industrial rope access work; set up, alter and dismantle industrial rope access systems; carry out advanced industrial rope access techniques; carry out advanced patient recovery techniques; develop a safety plan to manage risks when individuals are working at height and fall prevention strategies are required; develop a rescue plan for recovery of a suspended individual after a fall.
Current member of Site Safe New Zealand

This provides members with training and courses in a wide range of site safe practices. Site Safe members receive discounts on courses to encourage on-going training and up-to-date practices. Nationally recognised.
Formerly a member of NZOIA
(New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association)
This is the New Zealand qualifications body for instructors in outdoor disciplines. NZOIA has promoted excellence in outdoor instruction and guiding through qualifications for professionals since 1987. Cliff obtained rock-climbing qualifications Level 1 and Level 2. Also Alpine climbing qualifications Level 1.
25 years experience with ropes & rigging
Cliff has a wealth of experience working with ropes at height. He has been a rock-climbing instructor and volunteer in Alpine Search and Rescue NZ and Red Cross. He has been incorporating industrial rope access into his industrial spraypainting service for the past 12 years. He also works in show rigging for performances and concerts when required.
